Well well...23rd March...this is what alot of people and I have been waiting for...the opening of The Cathay. HQ is closed for the day, and all staffs are activated to help out at this big event. It's one of the biggest and the only event of such concept in the movie industry and in Singapore. All staffs are dressed up nicely and helping out as ushers, receptions, minders, bouncers and security. No government bodies was at this event, but mainly our vips consist of boss's family members, working partners and medias.
Highlights of this event were shocking and suprising. We had performances of movie characters such as Marilyn Monroe, Austin Powers, Batman sequence with Joker and Catwomen, Spiderman sequence, Moulin Rouge, The Mask, Elvis Presley. And many other characters just walking around the building and having polaroids taken with our guests. Other characters are Star wars and troopers, Rocky, Bruce Lee, Adams family, Trinity and Neo, The Bride & gogo yubari, Wolverine and cyclops, tootsie and many many more!!! There was also aerial acts (from cirque de soleil) doing their stunts up in the air. there was also musicians suspended in the air and playing music as guests register and walks in. And....there was pyrotechnics (fire works) inside the building, right after our boss did her speech!
A really unforgettable and wonderful event.
This is the very first time HQ is closed for the day, and the first time that all staffs gets to dress up nicely and enjoy. See photos lah :) But kinda sad, cos alot of us didn't get a chance to take photos or polaroids with the movie characters! Cos firstly we're too busy and secondly, guests has priority to take pics with the movie characters.
Well, sad to say, the only tenant now is the cinemas, but check it out when the seats are still new! The mall looks really nice from the outside cos of the lights. Really a nice place.
